Opening Night

My play JUMBLE opened last night.
I have to say, out of all the plays I've written and produced this one has been the nicest to be involved in. It's down to having an amazing director (Mike Heath) and a very talented, hard working cast.

As we were getting ready to do our first show last night, I looked around and thought how lovely it was to not see a script hanging around backstage. Whenever I've done a play before, there's always been a script out for someone and a sense of not being completely ready in the air. This time we were more than ready and just so excited.

The lovely theatre was half full and the tickets are selling and selling with Saturday almost sold out. Phew.

We had a fabulous opening night audience, they were laughing from the start.

I'll keep you posted on the rest of the run and if you are in Manchester, come on down to the wonderful Studio Salford and join us for 2 hours of fun!

My Studio

This is my studio. It needs painting - but I love it!

Rest and Rehearsals

I'm in Wales at the moment, relaxing at my mum and dad's. We came yesterday and will be driving back in an hour or so.
I love coming here, their house is so relaxing, I get cuddles from my cats, fabulous food off my mum and giggles off my dad.
They live near the beach too and although my dad and Mr Sally went down there yesterday to fly kites! I decided to stay in the warmth with my mum!

Anyway, back to Manchester later. I'm in rehearsals until late tonight. It's the last full week of rehearsals this week. We open next Weds. So excied and nervous at the same time.
Tickets are booking up and I think we're going to have a good run.

Keep you posted on all things JUMBLE!

We're also going to be filming a theatrical trailer tonight, which will go live this week!

Jumbled Chaos!

I'm so sorry I've been so bad at posting anything.
JUMBLE rehearsals have taken over and I've not got a spare minute for anything at the moment. Juggling the day job and rehearsals has been tricky, but it's worth it.

I moved in to my very own studio two weeks ago. It has two huge windows and it has a little storage room. We've been rehearsing in there and it's great. I need to paint it, but it'll have to wait until JUMBLE is out of the way. Loads of people have asked to hire the space for their rehearsals and I'm chuffed to have it to help others. My friend is currently in there doing a read-through of his play as I type this. It's so expensive hiring a space to rehearse in Manchester. It's in an old mill and it's full of studios and lots of creative people pottering around!

JUMBLE opens in two weeks! Eeek. We're having a ball rehearsing. I really love the director, honeslty he's the best director I've worked with yet. The cast are fab too. We've had two cast changes since we had the read-through all those weeks ago, and the play is really coming together now.
Check out our rehearsal diary here.

Promise to write more soon! x
