She's Out...

Paris has been released!

Ok, I'm not going to say anything about the girl - she's done her time (well half!) But can I just say for someone who's just walked free from jail - how immaculate does she look?!

I'm not talking Harry - I'm talking about the wonderful Beatrix Potter - creator of much loved characters including Peter Rabbit.

Anyone who's just watched the wonderful film about the authors life 'Miss Potter' will be aware the beautiful surroundings it's set.

The Lake District.
My favourite place in the whole world. It's hard to believe somewhere so beautiful is only a little drive away from my house.
I try and visit the Lakes at least once a year, more if I can.
Anyway, Mr Sally and I have had personally a couple of really bad weeks, so we decided to pack up for the weekend and head to the Lakes. I was treated to a posh hotel and the fresh air and calmness did us a world of good.

Our hotel - right on the Lake.

Sunday on the Lake.
It's easy to see why Miss Beatrix Potter loved this place so much, I do too. My teenage novel is even set in Cumbria - which gives me an excuse to keep going back for research purposes!

Erm, have I heard right? Paris Hilton has been released from jail because it's making her loopy?
Excuse me, but isn't that the point?

Apparently she's learnt her lesson - haven't we all. If you ever end up in prison - pretend your crazy and tell them you've learnt from your experience.

** I'm sure she will release further tips in a book later this year **

Ugly Betty

I've just watched the final episode of Ugly Betty and it was BRILLIANT!

Ugly Betty is by far one of the most well written - well acted dramas on TV at the moment.

The final episode was full of twists and turns and I've just cried my heart out at the ending.

Bring on the next series quickly PLEASE!

Marketing Madness

I was just walking down the street and got stopped by a guy in a 'Save the Children' t-shirt. Well I tried to avoid him, but he got me.
'I'm a bit busy.' I said quickly.
'Everyone is.' He smiled.
I stopped walking and gave in...
'Who do you fancy the most - The Hoff or Karl Kennedy?'
'Err, Karl Kennedy.' I said.
'No probs... thanks for your time.' He smiled and walked off.

Hang on - aren't you going to ask me to help save the children? Seems not.

Ok, so I'm sat in the library doing some writing and the library phone was ringing, ringing, RINGING really loudly for ages and nobody answered it. It was very annoying.

Then, my mobile (which was on silent) flashed and told me I had a call coming through. I hit the answer button and whispered, 'hang on I'm in the library.'

Without a seconds chance to get out of my seat and dash out, I felt a tap on my shoulder and a stern looking woman boomed 'OUT!'

So why's it ok for the library phone and her screechy voice to ruin everyone's silence but I can't whisper in to my phone? Hm.

Yesterday, I went on to another floor of the library and was distracted by the woman behind the desk telling her friend all about her planned night out to the bingo.

Then a guy came in and threw his bag on the table, making the woman stop her story about the bingo and shout 'STOP MAKING NOISE - PLEASE.'

Hey lady - Ditto!
