I'm not talking Harry - I'm talking about the wonderful Beatrix Potter - creator of much loved characters including Peter Rabbit.
Anyone who's just watched the wonderful film about the authors life 'Miss Potter' will be aware the beautiful surroundings it's set.
The Lake District.
My favourite place in the whole world. It's hard to believe somewhere so beautiful is only a little drive away from my house.
I try and visit the Lakes at least once a year, more if I can.
Anyway, Mr Sally and I have had personally a couple of really bad weeks, so we decided to pack up for the weekend and head to the Lakes. I was treated to a posh hotel and the fresh air and calmness did us a world of good.
Our hotel - right on the Lake.
Sunday on the Lake.
It's easy to see why Miss Beatrix Potter loved this place so much, I do too. My teenage novel is even set in Cumbria - which gives me an excuse to keep going back for research purposes!
I was just walking down the street and got stopped by a guy in a 'Save the Children' t-shirt. Well I tried to avoid him, but he got me. 'I'm a bit busy.' I said quickly. 'Everyone is.' He smiled. I stopped walking and gave in... 'Who do you fancy the most - The Hoff or Karl Kennedy?' 'Err, Karl Kennedy.' I said. 'No probs... thanks for your time.' He smiled and walked off.
Hang on - aren't you going to ask me to help save the children? Seems not.
I'm a comedy writer and performer living in Manchester.
